Maha
Nirvani Ghat:Earlear this was the
part of niranjani ghat. In early 20th century
king of panchkota made this ghat.
Shivala ghat:This ghat
was made by king balwant Singh. Bahendra maths, established
by king of Varanasi, is situated on it in where is the
arrangement of lodging for south Indian pilgrims.
Gularia ghat:This was made pacca
in this was made pacca in 1820. The ghat is named after a
huge gulara (a tree of fig group) still exist exist here.
Dandi
ghat:Due to the residential area
of dandi swamis (saints) in the ghat, this ghat is called
dandi ghat. Math (monestary) of dandi swamies is also on the
ghat.
Hanumana ghat:There lies a temple
of hanuman and shrines of nine planets so this ghat is
called hanuman ghat. South Indian residents dominate the
neighborhood.
Karnataka ghat:This
ghat was built by the state of mysore . They’re also a
shrine of guru bhairava, one of the eight bhairava
protecting the city from eight directions.
Harischandra ghat:This
ghat is named after a mythological king hariscandra who once
worked the cremation ground here for the perseverance of
truth and charity but at the end the gods rewarded him and
restored his lost throne and his dead son to him.
Lali ghat:In
c. 1778 this ghat was built pucca by raja of Banaras. At the
upper side there are temples of lam-bodara, cintamani and
jyestha vinayakas, kiratesvara, jayanta Siva lingam and maha
laksmi. Washer men dominate the vicinity.
Vijayanagaram ghat:This
was made pucca in c. 1890 by the vijayanagaram state of
south India. At the top of it is swami karapatri asrama.
Closely to this building are the shrines of nilakantha (I)
and nispapesvara.
Kedaraghat:This
ghat is meticulously eulogized in the kkh (77.8-10, 47-54,
also Kim.). This is the site of harampapa tirtha. At the top
exists the temple of kedaresvara, the patron deity of the
southern sacred sites are: tarakesvara, gauri kunda and
vitanka nrsimha. In late sixteenth century kumarasvami, a
devotee of dattatreya made a monastery attached to the
kedaresvara, temple.
Cauki ghat:This
ghat is famous for the huge pipala tree at the top of the
steps which shelters a great array of sone figures of
snakes, nagas. closeby to this tre is the shrine of
Rukmangesvara, and at some distance lies naga kupa. on the
occasion of festival honuring snake, naga pancami falling on
the 5th light half of sravana, these shrines are especially
worshipped. this ghat was built in c. 1790.
Pracina (Old) hanuman Ghat:Both of
the above ghats are made pucca by mahant Haribaranath in c.
1825. this ghat gad affinity with a great bhakti saint
vallabha who laid the philosophical foundations for a great
resurgence of krsna bhakti. his birth day is celebrated here
on 11th dark-half of vaisakha. the temple of rama consists
of five siva lingams named after rama his tow brothers , his
wife and his monkey servant (hanumandisvara).
Ksemesvara/Somesvara Ghat:Its old
name was Nala Ghat, and was built in early eighteenth
century. The followers of Kumarasvami made a monastery in
1962 at the upper-side of the steps. The shrines of
Ksemesvara Gina are at the top portion of the steps.
Bengali residents dominate the neighborhood.
Manasarovara Ghat:At
the top of this ghat there is a sacred pond, in replicated
form, representing the famous sacred lake of the same name
lying in Tibet? This ghat was built by Raja Mana Sigh of
Jaipur in c. 1585, and was rebuilt in c. 1805. The shringes
of Rama, Laksamana, and Dattateya are in the vicinity.
